Template:Character infobox Arthas Menethil was the name of the son of Terenas Menethil II, and the eventual second Lich King, succeeding Ner'zhul. During his earlier days, he was a paladin, and the prince of Lordaeron, and was constantly trying to find a way to cleanse his land of the Plague, and his trek led him to Northrend, where he claimed Frostmourne and slew Mal'Ganis. Soon, after leaving and killing all those he loved, he made a pact with Ner'zhul and became the Lich King.
After the War Against the Lich King, Arthas fell at the hands of Tirion Fordring and many heroes of Azeroth, and he was succeeded as Lich King by Bolvar Fordragon.
