|World Shaman Thrall, Son of Durotan|
"The beginning of wisdom is the statement 'I do not know.' The person who cannot make that statement is one who will never learn anything. And I have prided myself on my ability to learn."―Thrall
World Shaman Thrall, Son of Durotan, is an orc Shaman, formerly in the Horde. He was the Warchief, or leader, of the Horde. He left the Horde to join the Earthern Ring to help settle the elements in the wake of the Cataclysm. Garrosh Hellscream took his place as Warchief of the Horde.
Eventually, Garrosh became corrupt, and Thrall returned to Durotar to help the Darkspear Rebellion, lead by Vol'jin and Baine Bloodhoof, defeat Garrosh and his True Horde in the Siege of Orgrimmar. After his defeat, Garrosh was taken away by Taran Zhu and the Shado-Pan to stand trial in Pandaria. Garrosh later escaped his trial due to Kairozdormu and the infinite dragonflight, and went back in time to an alternate Draenor. Thrall joined the expedition to Draenor, and tracked down Garrosh to Grommashar in Nagrand. He challenged Garrosh to mak'gora, which Garrosh gladly accepted. The two orcs dueled at the Stones of Prophecy in Nagrand, where they had first met. In the end, Thrall emerged victorious, forced to kill Garrosh with a heavy heart.
Following Garrosh's death, the elements stopped responding to Thrall, and he could no longer wield Doomhammer's power. When the Burning Legion returned to Azeroth, Thrall helped the Horde assault the Broken Shore. He later ventured to the Maelstrom and met up with the remnants of the Earthern Ring, as several members had been killed at the Broken Shore. However, the Legion soon attacked the Maelstrom, and during the attack Doomhammer was knocked out of Thrall's hands and through the Maelstrom, into Deepholm. Thrall then helped the new Farseer of the Earthern Ring retrieve Doomhammer, and allowed them to keep the weapon, saying they could wield the power of it far better than he could. Thrall then went to Dalaran to re-unite with his family.
