Tirion Fordring, or the Ashbringer, was a human male Paladin, as well as leader of the Argent Crusade, a group of people that joined together to stop Arthas Menethil, the Lich King, and his mighty undead army, the Scourge. Tirion was the one that brought an end to Arthas, and coronated Bolvar Fordragon the new Lich King.

Tirion was captured by Gul'dan at the Battle of the Broken Shore during the Burning Legion's third invasion of Azeroth. He was tortured by demons there, and although a paladin eventually found him and took up the Ashbringer, Tirion succumbed to his wounds. He was given a funeral and buried under Light's Hope Chapel.

Later on in the Broken Isles Campaign, the Knights of the Ebon Blade raided Light's Hope Chapel and attempted to raise Tirion as one of the new Four Horsemen, however the power of the light was too strong there and prevented them from doing so.
